Petapalooza

Brickyard Animal Hospital is dedicated to supporting the Salt Lake Valley community. In 2018 we helped sponsor Salt Lake County Animal Services Petapalooza – a fun filled day at the Viridian Event Center in West Jordan, Utah. The hospital set up a booth to talk about preventative dental care – an often missed part of care in young, healthy dogs. It’s important to get started on preventative care at home, while a dog’s teeth are still as healthy as possible. Preventing dental disease works best in a team-based approach between your veterinarian and the pet owner – combining in-hospital evaluation and cleaning and at-home maintenance. Dr. Esdorn and veterinary assistant Madi Hart handed out free dental health kits containing dental treats, a dog toothbrush and toothpaste, and provided free demonstrations on how to brush your dog’s teeth, as well as resources for other forms of at home dental care including chews, wipes, rinses and water additives. For more information and products that have been shown to reduce plaque and tartar in dogs and cats please see the Veterinary Oral Health Council’s website at http://www.vohc.org/index.html or call the front desk to schedule an Evaluation.
